Žďár nad Sázavou Relaxation Centre

The centre has a swimming pool, a children’s paddling pool with a water mushroom, a relaxing fun pool with a current channel, a climbing wall, massage chairs, a water slide and a jacuzzi.

Guests can also use the spa area with 3 saunas and a salt cave.

Přibyslav – Sázava cycle path

The cycle path, which follows the old railway line, connects two tourist centres through the picturesque landscape of the River Sázava valley.

Vysočina Arena

The Vysočina Arena is designed primarily for sports events and its layout allows year-round training for cross-country skiing and biathlon competitions. The surroundings of the Vysočina Arena are interwoven with a network of single tracks for mountain bikes.

Rosička Lookout Tower

The lookout tower is 42 meters high and visitors have to climb 140 steps. You can find it near the municipality of Sázava near Žďár nad Sázavou.

Model Kingdom

A model Vysočina-themed track on an area of 50 sqm. Here you will find Pernštejn Castle, St. John of Nepomuk Church, the engineering company Žďas and many other details.

Pilák Recreation Area

The recreation area is located in a beautiful natural environment on the banks of Pila reservoir. You will find a multipurpose pitch, children’s playground, miniature golf, fitness machines and table tennis.

Hopík Žďár

The Hopík play room and café is located in the centre of Žďár nad Sázavou. The labyrinth of climbing frames is designed for children from 1 to 14 years.

Vagón Polnička

This natural children’s area offers many attractions, such as a 300 m long track with a small train and electric cars, as well as buggies, boats, a cable car and a mini zoo. You can also find refreshments here.

Podlesíčko Fairytale Village

There are eleven separate houses and three fairytale apartments in the village. Programmes with fairytale creatures, theatre and puppet shows, dwarf creative workshops and carnivals are organized on weekends and selected days.

Zelená hora

The pilgrimage church of Saint John of Nepomuk on Zelená hora in Žďár nad Sázavou is registered on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List.

Žďár nad Sázava Regional Museum

The main building at the fortress alternates between various exhibitions during the year, mostly with regional themes. In the nearby Mouček house opposite the clergy house at the Church of St. Procopius there is a permanent exhibition on the town’s history. You will find a first republic shop and a burgher salon.

Šlakhamr

Originally a medieval hammer mill – a mechanical forge – its task was to process iron ore mined in the surrounding area.

Pernštejn

The exceptionally well-preserved medieval castle was the base of the Lords of Pernštejn. The castle’s original simple layout is lost in the tangle of later reconstructions.

Veselý kopec

In the timbered houses, you will find examples of housing and farming by small farmers dating from the mid-19th century to the mid-20th century.

Towns in the area

Nové Město na Moravě

Nové Město district is considered by many to be the most beautiful corner of the Vysočina region. It is a land of picturesque hills, deep forests and rocks. In the town you will find a castle, the Horácká Gallery, a museum, three churches and the town spa.

Hlinsko

In the town centre you will find a historical district called Betlém, which is part of the Vysočina Folk Buildings Society. Hlinsko town museum and gallery are among the oldest in the Czech Republic, with exhibitions of fine arts held all year round.

Bystřice nad Pernštejnem

In the town you will find a landscaped square with a modern amphitheatre, the Baroque Church of St. Lawrence, the former town hall, which houses the Municipal Museum, several nice historical houses, a fountain with sculptures of St. Cyril and Methodius, a Marian column surrounded by the town’s four patron saints and the cemetery church of the Holy Trinity.

Natural beauty

Nature trail around Zelená hora

The trail will take you through an impressive environment around Konvent Pond, offering views of the pond, the castle and, last but not least, the pilgrimage church of St. John of Nepomuk on Zelená hora.

The trail is 2.6 km long.

Velké Dářko Pond

With an area of 206 ha, Velké Dářko is the largest pond in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. It is also called the “Sea of Vysočina”.

Žďár Hills PLA

The Žďár Hills and the protected landscape area of the same name can be considered without exaggeration as one of the last untouched oases of peaceful and pure nature in the heart of the Czech Republic.

Rozštípená skála

A rock in which a large crack, 10 meters long and 2 metres wide, was created in one place. It gives the rock its name and is easily accessible.
