We wandered into the castle by chance, we have never heard of it until now. That made it an even bigger surprise. We were drawn the most by the interactive exhibition about the history of the former monastery, but we also really liked the attitude and behavior of the staff. Definitely worth spending more time there, it is interesting for both older and younger children.

I took a complete tour with my family. First a tour Following Santini´s Footprints who left a deep mark here in Žďár. Certainly, the most beautiful is the church and the prelature with a beautiful ceiling painting. Afterward a tour of religious paintings and statues of the National Gallery. Lastly, we went through a modern museum, which I really liked. You get an audio guide and go through the exhibition on your own.

I really did not expect this. Well-maintained castle/monastery, including adjoining buildings. Modern architectural elements and materials are sensitively used in the original buildings.

This is what a tourist attraction should look like (meant well). Great facilities, parking, information system, café, lockers, toilets + a pleasant, guided tour and at the end a well-equipped shop.
